Celebrate NAIDOC week at The Kids

Register your interest to book a special NAIDOC Week x Telethon Kids school excursion.

At Telethon Kids, Aboriginal health is everyone's business.

Our research teams are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal children and families by partnering with Aboriginal communities across WA. Not only do we have staff and researchers based in our Perth office, but Telethon Kids also has offices in the Pilbara and Kimberley.

This year, we are excited to work in partnership with our Aboriginal health team from Telethon Kids Kimberley to bring you a special NAIDOC Week school excursion experience at Telethon Kids Institute. Meet our team at TKK, learn about Yawuru country (Broome) and its surrounds, and get to know some of the critical work our researchers are doing to improve the lives of Aboriginal children and families in the region. In addition to this, your students will also get the opportunity to:

  • Spend some time playing the games in our interactive Discovery Centre,
  • Participate in a guided tour of our state-of-the-art laboratories; and
  • Engage in the hands-on activities involved in the Get a Lung of This excursion program, where your students will get to make slimy mucous to learn about the vital respiratory health research carried out across the Kimberley region.

Suitable for students in Years 3-6, the excursion costs $7.00 + GST per student and runs Monday to Friday at Telethon Kids Institute inside Perth Children's Hospital, Nedlands, from 10.00 - 12.00pm.

The special NAIDOC Week x Telethon Kids excursion is only availabe in the first two weeks of Term 3, between the 18th - 29th July 2022. Register your interest today by completing our online booking form, selecting an excursion date between 18th - 29th July and mentioning NAIDOC Week in the comments box!
